KB5: LightScribe

What is it?

LightScribe is a technology developed by Hewlett-Packard, that allows you to print images on CD or DVD media.

Requirements

To use LightScribe from CDBurnerXP, you need the following:

  1. A drive which supports LightScribe
  2. LightScribe compatible media (Verbatim is known to be good)
  3. CDBurnerXP 4.0.025 or higher
  4. 32 bit version of CDBurnerXP (default)

How to use

If all requirements are met, you will see a LightScribe button in the print cover dialog (shortcut: Ctrl+P). If you press the button, CDBurnerXP will generate an image using the data entered in the dialog (title, disc number, background picture) and load the LightScribe print options dialog with it. You can then choose further settings and start the printing process.

You can burn the same image to the disc multiple times, to get a better contrast and darker images.

1)
